In this weeks update we give an update on the second phase of the token swap and the Howdoo rollout.
Re-opening the Token Swap
A number of holders missed our token swap last year, so to be inclusive, we’re pleased to announce a re-opening of the token swap window. This swap window will be open from today and close 22nd March 2020.
It is vital that as we prepare for a final migration to our native token, all old UDOO holders get their swapped for the new ERC-20 UDOO.
There are over 500 wallets still containing the old token, and we would encourage anyone with these, to swap in this phase as there will be no direct swap from OLD UDOO to New Native UDOO in the app.
If your UDOO’s have no Howdoo Logo, and no value, then you are holding the old token. If you click on the UDOO’s in the dropdown, it will take you to a filtered page, where you can see the smart contract they are assigned from.
If that number is 0x0df721639ca2f7ff0e1f618b918a65ffb199ac4e, then you are certainly holding old tokens.
So to swap these tokens we need you to send your old UDOO’s to the smart contract address, then email [email protected] with your name, contact details, ether wallet address and the TX code for the transaction (so please save that link).
If you are unsure of how to do this. Here is a step by step guide on how to use MEW to send the tokens.
MyEtherWallet (MEW) makes it easy for you to send a transaction. All you need is a wallet, the Ethereum address you’d like to send funds to, and a little ETH for gas.
All transactions require ETH for gas. We suggest having at least .01 ETH for 2 – 3 transactions.
If you plan to move large amounts of UDOOs, we suggest sending a small amount first to make sure everything goes as planned.
Step 1. Access your wallet from one of the following:
- Hardware Wallets (Ledger Nano S, Trezor, Digital Bitbox, Finney, etc.)
- Browser Extensions a.k.a. Web3 (MEW CX, MetaMask, etc.)
- Keystore/JSON File + Password
- Mnemonic Phrase + Password
- Private Key
Step 2. Select the button that says ‘Send Transaction’, or find this section in the ‘Send’ category from the left menu.
Step 3. Fill in the type of currency you’d like to send (UDOO), the amount, and the address you’d like to send to –> 0x0df721639ca2f7ff0e1f618b918a65ffb199ac4e
- Make sure to double and triple check the address you’re sending to! The smart contract address is 0x0df721639ca2f7ff0e1f618b918a65ffb199ac4e
- When sending your entire balance of UDOOs, just choose the ‘Send Entire Balance’ option.
- Gas and gas limit will auto-generate based on network congestion (you need Gas to send the tokens).
If you don’t see the UDOO in the ‘type’ box to pick, you will need to add it as a custom token. To do this, look to the right hand panel where the tokens are listed and click on the +custom token button. A pop up box will appear, just paste the address from above into the address box, UDOO in the token symbol and 18 in the decimals box. You should now see your old UDOO balance and be able to select it from the dropdown in the send menu.
Step 4. Click ‘Send Transaction’ and confirm the transaction on the next screen.
If you’re using MEWconnect or a hardware wallet, be sure to confirm the transaction on your device as well.
Step 5. Your transaction has been posted! Copy your transaction hash, and drop it in an email to [email protected] with the info above and we’ll send the new tokens directly to you wallet once we’ve validated. We will be manually checking, and will endeavor to turn around in 3 days.
Check your transaction hash on Etherscan to make sure everything went through properly.
